Gold dropped all the way to $1608.20 by a little before 4AM EST before it rebounded to $1630.17 in London, but it then fell to a new session low of $1603.87 by early afternoon in New York and ended with a loss of 2.07%. Silver saw a slight gain at $31.333 by a little after 10AM EST, but it then plummeted to as low as $29.948 in the next few hours of trade and ended with a loss of 2.79%. Full Story

Gold started the day with a fall to $1,620 from yesterday’s $1,651 level. The euro was a tad stronger at 1€: $1.3763 ahead of the Fix, leaving gold in the euro at €1,177.07. It then Fixed in London at $1,629.00 showing the underlying emerging markets demand and in the euro at €1,180.179 while the euro stood at €1: $1.3803. The euro rose slightly to €1: $1.3806 ahead of New York’s opening, while gold slipped $1,621.00 and in the euro at €1,174.13. Full Story

Gold dropped almost $50 all the way to $1626.84 by a little after 10AM EST, but it then rallied back higher in the next few hours of trade and ended with a loss of just 1.34%. Silver slumped over 4% to as low as $30.388 by a little after 8AM EST, but it then soared back higher in New York and ended near its late session high of $32.098 with a gain of 0.28%. Gold opened lower after Asia took it down to $1,674 then London followed, taking it down further to $1,660 ahead of the London Gold Fixing. The euro was weaker at €1: $1.3680 and gold in the euro fell to €1,213.45. We continue to expect the London gold Fixing to make the running on the gold price today.
