New York closed at $1,763.90 and Asia held it there, before London opened. The Fix was set at $1,756.00 with the euro price Fixed at €1,269.612 while the euro was at €1: $1.3831. The euro strengthened slightly ahead of New York’s opening to €1: $1.3850 making the price of gold in the euro €1,270.88. Thereafter, ahead of New York’s opening the gold price held steady at $1.759.40 and euro gold at €1,270.88. The London gold Fix remains the dominating factor for the gold price. DOLLAR PRICES for gold bullion continued moving in a range bound fashion around $1758 an ounce – 8.3% up from where they began October – after the release of US nonfarm payroll data, which showed the US economy added 80,000 jobs last month. Full Story

Gold waffled near unchanged in Asia and London, but it then jumped higher in New York and ended near its late session high of $1767.55 with a gain of 2.14%. Silver rose to as high as $34.859 and ended with a gain of 1.56%. Full Story

The Fix was set at $1,732.50 with the euro price fixed at €1,257.257 while the euro was at €1: $1.3780. The euro weakened a cent to €1: $1.3691 making the price of gold in the euro €1,265.80 up €10. U.S. DOLLAR prices to buy gold jumped to a six-week high of $1757 an ounce late on Thursday morning – though only 0.7% above last Friday's close – following reports that Greek prime minister George Papandreou was on the verge of offering his resignation. Full Story

Gold gained over $35 to as high as $1744.02 by about 11AM EST before it fell back off by nearly $25 into the close, but it still ended with a gain of 1.06%. Silver rose to as high as $34.40 by early afternoon in New York before it also fell back off a bit in late trade, but it still ended with a gain of 3.31%. Full Story

New York closed at $1,708, then Asia took it to $1,728 before London added a little more to the price and took it to $1,731, just after its opening. The euro weakened slightly to €1: $1.3780 making the price of gold in the euro €1,256.17 only a €13 rise compared to a $23 rise in the dollar. THE SPOT MARKET gold price climbed to $1736 an ounce in early London trading – 3.1% above Tuesday's low – before falling back a bit, while European stock makrets halted recent steep declines but failed to stage a convincing rally following news that Greece's prime minister had been summoned to France to explain himself after calling for a referendum on last week's bailout deal. Gold fell $43.02 to as low as $1681.68 by a little after 9AM, but it then rallied back higher for most of the rest of trade and ended with a loss of just 0.92%. Silver dropped to as low as $32.12 before it rebounded back up to $33.565 at about 10:45, but it then fell back off a bit in late trade and ended with a loss of 4.58%. Asia held the gold price steady at $1,718 overnight and the €: $ strengthened a cent to €1: $1.3806 leaving gold in the euro higher at €1,244.39. During London’s morning the euro fell another cent against the dollar until it Fixed at $1,702.00 and in the euro at €1,243.062 while the euro stood at €1: $1.3692. Ahead of the opening of New York, the gold price fell slightly to $1,701.40 while the euro climbed ever so slightly to $1.3696. As you can see gold rose in the euro while it fell in the dollar. Asia took the gold price down $30 ahead of London’s opening. The gold price stood at $1,714 at that point. During London’s morning it rose slightly until it Fixed at $1,718.00 and in the euro at €1,227.231 while the euro stood at €1: $1.40. U.S.DOLLAR gold bullion prices on the spot market dropped sharply to $1708 an ounce Monday morning – a 2.2% fall from Friday's close – while stocks and commodities also fell and the US Dollar gained following Japan's intervention aimed at weakening the Yen. Full Story
